Welcome to Bridon NZ Ltd, trading as “Cookes” New Plymouth.

We are one of thirteen branches throughout New Zealand, with our Head Office in Auckland. We came out from the UK to New Zealand in 1911 as part of British Ropes from Doncaster, England. Our New Plymouth branch was established in 1987 in the central city.

With major growth in the petrochemical and offshore oil and gas industries we relocated to our new building at Corbett Rd Bell Block in February of 2005.

As a major supplier to the oil, gas and engineering industry for services and equipment we have expanded well and in December of 2006 we installed the largest test bed in New Zealand with 180,000kg testing capacity by 75ft and three months later we added a new 650,000kg Wirop Press.

We supply most major industries throughout New Zealand; Logging, Sawmills, Forestry, Pulp Mills, Steel Mills, Agricultural, Avaition, Fishing, Drilling, Dairy, Railways, Energy, OEM Manufactures, Farming, Crane, Shipping, Ports, Earthmoving, Quarry, Construction, Mining, Roofing, Building & Scaffolding, Road Transport and Motorway Safety with services and products. We also supply on-site testing with our 40,000kg capacity mobile testing truck.

We are New Zealand’s only wire rope manufacturer with sizes from 1.5mm to 60mm and the largest stockist of material handling & rigging equipment.
